Dehradun, the capital of Uttaranchal is prettily placed in the centre of the heavenly Doon Valley surrounded by the lower ranges of mountains -n the Himalays to the north and mist clad Shivalik mountain ranges to the south. Because of its geographical location, it is also called Doon Valley. The valley echoes with the soul-stirring numbers played by the two most revered rivers of India -Ganga and Yamuna flowing by its sides.
